To all our Battle Teams, Coaches, and Volunteers:

The Battle Board and Special Olympics of Greater Dayton hopes you are all staying healthy!!!

Unfortunately, guidance from state and public health officials indicate that our public health outlook remains very uncertain for the coming months.  Therefore, the Battle Board has decided to cancel the 2020 Battle of the Businesses that was scheduled to be held May 30 through June 6, 2020.  We investigated trying to postpone until a later date, but our ability to offer a full range of quality events in safe and appropriate venues is not possible in the late summer or early fall.  We were also cognizant that efforts to organize competitive company teams and fundraisers would be not only difficult but stressful considering the current conditions and the need for physical distancing.

Here are some key points we want you to know:

  • The 2020 Battle of the Businesses is cancelled and will not be rescheduled this year.
  • We are grateful to teams who have started fundraising. Those amounts will be credited to their 2021 Battle Bucks totals.  We will happily arrange to pick up any funds that have been collected when it is convenient and appropriate to do so.  E-mail or call the Battle to make those arrangements.
  • We hope to arrange for a “Fun Battle Gathering” later in the year.  Keep an eye on future e-mails, the website, and Facebook for more information.

Thank you for all your support!  Stay safe and healthy in the coming months!!!
